Tina is our Assistant Hospital Manager.  She grew up in Ewing, NJ and joined our team both in 2005 and then again in 2023.  “I first joined the practice in June 2005 and worked as a technician and hospital coordinator between then and 2012. I rejoined the practice in April, 2023.”

Tina graduated from Rutgers University in 2005 with a BS in Animal Science, concentration in pre-veterinary medicine. She did not stop her education after graduation.  She went on to earn several different certifications.  In 2006 she became a Certified Veterinary Technician and in 2014 she became a Veterinary Technician Specialist. 

Tina definitely keeps busy and belongs to several organizations. “I am a Certified Veterinary Technician of the NJVTA (New Jersey Veterinary Technicians and Assistants) since 2006 and a Veterinary Technician Specialist in the AVTCP (Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Clinical Practice) since 2014. I am also a member of NAVTA (National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America) since 2007.

I enjoy volunteering to mentor technicians in the AVTCP to gain their VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist) in clinical practice; this is an almost 2-year credentialing process that includes case logs, case reports, continuing education and eventually, a national exam."

Why did Tina decide to come back to the practice?  “I made the decision to rejoin the team because my heart was always in general practice. After teaching, working in research and in emergency/specialty, I thought my knowledge and skills could be best used by training technicians to be the best they can be. Having a strong technician team supports the doctors, clients, and most importantly, the patients."

In addition to all the work and volunteering she does, Tina is married, has 3 children and 2 rescue cattle dog mixes  -  Kai and Akyra. “They were both adopted as adults (1 year, and 2 years old, respectively), which we find important because the puppies always get adopted.”

We are very lucky to have Tina as our Assistant Hospital Manager.  We asked what she likes about her job, “I enjoy teaching and take great pride in seeing a technician build confidence as they show me something new they learned, or even better, teach someone else. “See one; do one; teach one” is a motto of mine.”
