A New Jersey Native, Dr. Rizzitano attended Veterinary School at Ohio State, graduating in 1990, Summa Cum Laude. He then pursued a Small Animal Medicine & Surgery Internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA. Upon completion of his Internship, he moved cross country (“Go West Young Man”), where he practiced for 29 years at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. Through the kindness of a client in Los Angeles, the “Robert Rizzitano Scholarship Fund” was established in perpetuity at The Ohio State University to benefit students pursuing Small Animal Medicine. About a decade ago, he became interested in alternative medicine, and became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture at The Chi Institute in Reddick, FL. Also at Chi, he was schooled in the art on Chinese Herbal Medicine and Food Therapy as modalities to treat medical conditions. He has combined his knowledge of these, as well as of Western Herbs and some Homeopathic formulas, to develop a “Holistic” approach to medicine. An Internal Medicine suite has been named in his honor at The Ohio State University for his “Dedication To, And Love Of, Animals and Holistic Medicine”. Always the student, this year he is pursuing certification in Canine Rehabilitation. Rob likes to spend quiet time at home with his cat. An avid guitar collector, he enjoys writing and playing music. Also a motorcycle enthusiast, his “Escape” from life’s worries, is riding his Harley on beautiful country roads. “Dr. Rizz” plans to spend the remainder of his professional career here at Princeton Animal Hospital & Carnegie Cat Clinic.
