Melissa D.

Melissa started with Princeton Animal Hospital in 2006. She grew up in Feasterville Pennsylvania where she always knew she wanted to be involved with animals. Melissa joined our team because she felt right at home during her initial interview at PAH. Melissa attended Bucks County Community College and then earned her CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician) at Manor College in PA. Melissa holds many talents, one of them creating and sewing fashionable collars, leashes and even bow ties for pets and hair ties for people. Her work is typically on display here at the front desk and available for clients and their pets.

Melissa's specialty lies in surgery where her role as Surgery Team Lead ensures that: our surgical equipment is maintained and serviced; that we are practicing the absolute highest standards of surgical care with dedicated monitoring of our patient’s vitals as well as monitoring for pain management. While this multitasking talent is no easy task, Melissa's poise in surgery and her fierce attention to detail is why she is our Lead Surgical Tech. She is often found smiling and a pure joy to be around!

In her spare time Melissa loves reading comic books, enjoys playing board games and spending time with her husband. They share 4 rescue pets! Wren, a hound mix who is the 'goofiest dog on the planet;" Lobo, a black and white, male cat who enjoys eating her Leopard Gecko's bugs' whose name is Smaug (get the reference?) Then there's Petey, a grey cockatiel who has been with Melissa since she's 15 and who likes licking her face!
