Dr. Matthew Prior started his tenure at the Princeton Animal Hospital as a technician back in 2019 before joining the team as a veterinarian in June 2022. He is from the greater Philadelphia area where he graduated undergrad from Delaware Valley University receiving his bachelor’s degree in 2018. He then went on to graduate from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022.

Dr. Prior has wanted to be a veterinarian for most of his life and started working towards that dream when he was 16 as a veterinary assistant and then eventually a veterinary technician before completing vet school and becoming a veterinarian.  “ I’ve always had a great work ethic.   My parents taught me how to work hard which gave me the determination to become a veterinarian. At one point I worked four jobs at once – I never could say no to experience.”

Dr. Prior’s interests as a doctor include preventative medicine, surgery and dentistry.  Client education is also important to him.  “I love small animal medicine - it has always been the predominant avenue of veterinary medicine to pursue for me.”

Outside of being a veterinarian, Dr. Prior loves photography.  During college he photographed graduations, birthdays, anniversaries and special events. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and hiking with his dad. He wants to travel a lot more in the future, in hopes to experience everything the world has to offer!
