Princeton Animal Hospital & Carnegie Cat Clinic
Cat Friendly
The Cat Friendly Practice program is awarded through the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and is a global initiative intended to advance the care for cats by reducing stress and making practice visits more calm and enjoyable.
Overview:
If a location is a Cat Friendly Practice, you can expect them to meet specific standards for the facility and have a cat-friendly environment. Cat Friendly Practice employees will have a deep understanding of the unique needs specific to felines, and will have an empathetic and caring love when handling your cat. In addition, the practices will have the appropriate equipment necessary to treat and diagnose each feline in a standard-approved facility, while creating a stress-free hospital visit for both you and your pet. Lastly, a Cat Friendly Practice is designed for the entire veterinary staff to be well-trained and educated about a feline’s distinct health requirements and behaviors.
Why visit a Cat Friendly Practice?
When a location is selected as a Cat Friendly Practice, they have proven that they have taken the extra steps to understand a feline’s specific needs and meet the required cat-friendly standards. Each visit will be relaxing and in a calm environment, including waiting areas that won’t be associated with another animal’s unfamiliar scents. The veterinarian staff will also be well-trained on feline behavior and their individualized needs. Most Cat Friendly Practices also have separate exam rooms that are feline-only.
